Quick Start

5 Steps to Your First Hero

01

Install & Launch

Download TBH free from Steam and log in with your Nugem account. The game will dock to your taskbar automatically on first launch.

02

Pick Your Class

Start with Priest (free) to learn the systems. Priest's sustain makes early acts forgiving. Once familiar, Hunter and Slayer open up different playstyles.

03

Understand Stat Cubes

Each item has sockets called "stat cubes." Higher rarity items have more sockets. Prioritize gear that stacks your class's main stat — Attack for DPS classes, HP/Regen for Priest.

04

Progress Through Acts

TBH has 3 acts with 4 difficulty tiers each. Clear Act 1 before pushing difficulty — better gear drops at higher tiers, but so does monster damage.

05

Use the Steam Market

Legendary and Cosmic items have market value. Don't vendor them blindly — check the Steam Marketplace price first. Selling one good drop can fund DLC purchases.

Core Systems

Understanding Stat Cubes

Stat cubes are the heart of TBH's build system. Every equipped item has between 1 and 5 cube slots depending on rarity. Each cube adds a specific bonus — and stacking complementary cubes is what turns a mediocre run into a powerhouse.

Attack (ATK)

Directly increases hero damage output. Primary stat for Hunter and Slayer.

High — DPS classes
Critical Rate

Chance to deal a critical hit (typically 150–200% damage). Hunter scales best.

High — Hunter
HP / HP Regen

Increases survivability. Essential for Priest and for pushing higher difficulty tiers.

High — Priest
Attack Speed

Increases hit frequency. Multiplies well with ATK and Crit Rate on Hunter.

Medium — Hunter synergy
Critical Damage

Multiplier applied to crit hits. Very powerful when Crit Rate is already high.

High — late game
Defense (DEF)

Reduces incoming damage. Less impactful than HP Regen for Priest but worth stacking early.

Medium — early acts

Pro Tips

Tips for Faster Progression

01.
Don't push difficulty too early

Each act has 4 difficulty tiers. Monsters scale sharply. Wait until your hero can sustain through 5+ minutes without dying before climbing tiers.

02.
Check the Steam Market before vendoring

Legendary and Cosmic items can be worth real store credit. Always check market price before auto-vendoring a high rarity drop.

03.
Equip level-appropriate gear

A Common item at your current level often beats an Epic from 10 levels ago. Check gear level requirements and upgrade regularly.

04.
Play Priest first to learn the systems

Priest's sustain gives you breathing room to understand stat cubes, item upgrades, and act progression before committing to a more demanding class.

05.
Set the widget to auto-collect

In the TBH settings, enable auto-loot to let items accumulate passively. Check back every 30–60 minutes rather than hovering over the widget.
